Galactika Park is the product of a design-led approach. Drawing together engineering, ecology, community, and cultural values, we have proposed a significant new public open space.

Underpinned by a strong sense of place and informed by inherent cultural values, Galactika Park is set to be a park for the people.

In an ongoing effort to build a stronger hub for the Kogalym community, we are collaborating with Lukoil to make this ambitious public space a reality.

Aspiring to be the social heart of the Kogalym community, Galactika Gardens and Park will connect residents to entertainment, wellbeing, and shopping facilities, while connecting them to each other. Developed in collaboration with Lukoil, this ambitious project is envisioned as a bold and imaginative public space that unites recreation, education, culture, and community. Located between the Galactika Sports and Cultural Complex and the Yaranga Botanical Gardens, the park provides a natural link between these landmark destinations. Pathways, greenbelts, and flowing open spaces transform the journey between the two into an experience in itself, offering places to gather, play, and celebrate year-round.

At its core, Galactika Gardens and Park embodies a design-led approach that draws together engineering, ecology, cultural heritage, and community values. Inspired by both the natural world and the cosmos, its layout echoes phenomena such as galaxies, gravitational waves, and concentric ripples, symbolizing interconnectedness and harmony. To guide its form and balance, the design draws from the three overlapping philosophies of Japanese gardens, Shin, Gyo, and So blending natural and built elements while highlighting the beauty of Siberian flora.

Designed for all seasons, the park adapts with Siberia’s changing climate. Walking paths become skiing and skating trails in winter, while playgrounds and slides transform into sledding runs. Sports fields and gardens encourage recreation and relaxation throughout the year. At the heart of the park lies a large amphitheater, envisioned as the cultural gathering place of Kogalym. Here, residents can enjoy open-air cinemas, theatrical performances, concerts, and community events. The space is also designed to host seasonal celebrations, including a towering 20-meter Christmas tree and festivities for traditional state and regional holidays.

Galactika Gardens and Park is not only a recreational space but also a place for learning and sustainability. Seasonal gardens feature native Siberian plants cultivated in greenhouses, complemented by interpretive signage that educates visitors about local biodiversity. Energy-efficient lighting, eco-friendly infrastructure, and barrier-free accessibility ensure the park is welcoming and sustainable for all. An exhilarating Tree Adventure Rope Park adds excitement for younger visitors and families, while gardens and leisure zones provide calm spaces for relaxation and reflection. In every detail, the park balances innovation with respect for place, bridging culture, community, and nature.
