@img1 m @img2 m Located within the Daejeon Shinsegae Art & Science complex, the Daejeon Expo Aquarium opened its doors on September 10, 2021, introducing a novel marine experience inspired by Greek mythology in South Korea. Spanning 6,362 square meters, the aquarium features Poseidon, the god of the sea, as its mascot, inviting visitors to explore the mythical underwaters across seven thematic zones.

@img3 m From the lush environments of the Amazon rainforest to the mysterious depths of the ocean abyss, each zone of the Daejeon Expo Aquarium captivates visitors with diverse and meticulously replicated habitats. Highlights include a 94-meter underwater tunnel offering immersive views of predatory marine life, alongside interactive experiences such as VR and scuba diving that deepen visitor engagement.

@img4 m As a leading educational hub, the Daejeon Expo Aquarium is dedicated to advancing marine research and conservation, with programs in aquaculture rehabilitation and coral reef studies. It not only strengthens Daejeon’s position as a premier tourist destination but also serves as a vital center for learning and public awareness of marine biology.

Beyond entertainment, the aquarium plays a critical role in fostering conservation and sustainable practices through its focus on coastal ecology and marine preservation initiatives. With the approval of its initial concept design, the Daejeon Expo Aquarium is set to redefine marine interaction in South Korea, transforming the Daejeon Expo Science Complex into a thriving hub of marine education and conservation.
