Aquamarine Projects - Sheikh Zayed Marine Life Rehabilitation and Research Center

The Sheikh Zayed Marine Life Rehabilitation and Research Center is a pioneering facility in Abu Dhabi dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and conservation of regional marine species. Envisioned as both a state-of-the-art rehabilitation institute and a world-class educational attraction, the center is the first of its kind in the region.

At its core, the project provides specialized facilities for sea turtles and marine mammals in distress, offering a hatchery, hospital, and recuperation pools totaling over 3 million liters of water. Visitors are immersed in a learning journey that includes a 50-meter underwater tunnel, 12 exhibition zones showcasing Gulf marine biodiversity, and an artificial coral reef habitat where rehabilitated sea turtles can be temporarily housed before release.
