The Christchurch International Antarctic Center is envisioned as a world-class hub for Antarctic education, research, and entertainment. Drawing inspiration from the dramatic forms of ice and glaciers, the Center will serve as both an iconic architectural landmark and the official gateway to Antarctica, celebrating Christchurch’s historic role as a departure point for legendary explorers such as Robert Falcon Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton.

The project combines cutting-edge architecture, immersive visitor experiences, and scientific facilities into one integrated destination. Designed to reflect the crystalline geometry of ice, the Center will stand as a symbol of discovery and resilience, echoing Antarctica’s significance to science, culture, and global sustainability.
